Comments (8)Sunni- There was some talk that we might be able to get it at Ashdowns--not necessarily that Paul would be a distributor more like they would be willing to let us pick up there if it would save on shipping. I know that Ashdowns isnt really close to you but if you make the trip to RU or Ashdowns for the open houses you might be able to get it then and stock up. Combined with roses....this might require a U-Haul for some of us. LOL!!...See MoreCould Charlotte Support a new Garden Center?
Comments (2)Your best experience will be gained by working at a garden center although workers are rarely privy to the business side of running that kind of concern which is so dependent on weather, costs of purchasing stock in small quantities, finding annual financing at a reasonable rate and finding laborers who are reliable and can speak English. We all are tempted to buy from the mass displays at the big box stores and the lower prices let us buy even more there. This is key to killing off the smaller, more knowledgeable garden centers which are ,as you said, few and far between. They can't spare the $$ for advertising so rely heavily on word of mouth. Some (no, many) smaller garden centers try to be all things to everyone and spend too much of their budget on lawn-care items, fertilizers and insecticides as well as offering commonplace plant materials. Carrying forward inventory year to year it degrades and winds up as a loss. For some reason, I never see the small centers offering deep discounts on these kinds of items so they can buy fresh for the following year....See MoreCenter Support for Bed Frame

Comments (7)Thanks everyone. I think I will go with uninstalling it. I have used Dell tech support - and they never asked about it. Kudzu - my tech skills are limited - but when I have called Dell support I find their skills limited as well - always from a script and a frustrating waste of time. I would not be inclined to use their support to speed up my computer. (Interestingly, when I updated some other programs yesterday and restarted, the restart was fairly quick.) I have found the help on this forum much more useful. At some point, I will tackle looking into what runs at startup - and try disabling what I don't need (maybe after taxes - although I'd much prefer the start up issues to taxes and inevitable Turbo Tax software difficulties). Thanks everyone. Lynn....See More- 17 years ago
