Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

As I was slowing carrying my newly potted opuntia microdasys into the house, the glochids??(those tiny thorns) still ended up piercing the skin on my fingers and arms.

I tried to remove them w/tweezers, but the top of the glochid just broke off, leaving the other half imbedded in my skin.

I also tried using tape to lift them out of my skin w/little success.

They're also all over my gardening gloves!

Here's the beautiful culprit:

Also, how should I care for this cactus (water, fertilizer, sun exposure)? It will be indoors. It's planted in bonsai soil + perlite, indoor temp 70-75F, will be placed on a counter abutting a huge window (I believe it's south facing). I'm in TX.

Thanks!
