Stewartia koreana in northern California?

Our beautiful Smokebush (Cotinus obovatus) has just been diagnosed with Verticillium Wilt. I'm researching replacement for it and am looking for small trees that have gorgeous fall color and are resistant to the disease.

As I read, I'm lengthening my list of trees and shrubs that are susceptible not resistant, including the lovely Nyssa sylvatica. I like what I've read about Stewartia koreana but keep reaching a deadend when looking for its availability in California nurseries or any information about it growing in our area.

Do you have information about this tree in northern California, zone 9? Other recommendations for small garden trees with great fall color, seasonal interest?

Thank you.
