math & science tie-ins to gardening?

Hi everyone,

I may soon be in a position to teach gardening to children (ages range from 8ish to 11ish....mostly boys).

With so many avid and knowledgeable gardeners here, I thought I'd ask if anyone has done anything similar or know of books, websites, other resources that I can use to build a semester long curriculum.

Some ideas for curriculum that I have: to tie-in photosynthesis, fibonacci numbers, nutrition, soil health (how soil health relates to nutrition), lifecycles, etc.

This could be a lot of fun, but I'm having a hard time translating my ideas into specific lesson plans that flow from one to another and appear cohesive at the end of the semester.

Any suggestions, comments, referrals are appreciated.

thanks!
