Hello everyone -- so....amaryllis season is at its peak now and I've been hearing about many of you all receiving your bulbs in the mail. Please post and share the condition of your bulbs and share your raves and disappointments with the forum community. =) New comers -- please feel free to share what you've ordered. Since the last time I posted, I have ordered quite a bit: John Scheepers Alfresco Amputo Amalfi Exotica Exotic Star Papilio Improved (again....because the one I purchased last season was a no-bloom) Misty Ruby Meyers Snow White Rozetta Gurneys Little Devil Zombie Jungle Bells Edens Blooms/RareBulbs Bellisimo Blushing Bride Bright Spark Evergreen Green Dragon Peach Blossom Lemon Sorbet Jade Serpent Privately Amsterdam Charisma Cherry Nymph Full House Moonlight Neon Rose Paris Pasadena Pink Diamond Pink Nymph Splash Sweet Lillian If you're thinking I'm crazy...I'm thinking the same as well. I have no idea how I'm going to fit all these bulbs in my home (I don't have a greenhouse) and I've spent several hundreds of $$$ on just the bulbs (I'm going to also have to purchase potting soil/claypots). You know what the most saddest thing is? I sorta lied to myself ordering all these bulbs saying I would give most of them away as Christmas gifts. However, going down the list, all of the varieties are not in my collection yet so it would make no sense to give them away as gifts. I think the most atrocious thing of all is, I still want to buy more bulbs. I would love to order Ambiance from Royal Colors and would be happy to have Popov in my collection. With that said, I haven't even taken a look at whats available locally and I know I'll buy certain varieties if I don't have them. I know, I know....I think I'm addicted. Yet, I try to make myself feel better by telling myself that this addiction is better than being addicted to drugs or alcohol and plus, I only splurge at this advanced pace only once a year (amaryllis season). I'm sure many of you all in the U.S. are feeling it, but the economy is a mess. At times like this, people are encouraged to spend less, and save. I feel bad about pampering myself with all these bulbs. But yet again, I try to reason with my inner me by telling myself that if I don't spend, I'm making the economy worse off by not putting money into our financial system, therefore not giving businesses revenue, making people lose jobs due to lack of sales/profits. Excuses, excuses, excuses.....I know. How I am going to explain all these new pots and bulbs to my friends and family who visit, I do not know and cannot tell. But, I find peace within myself thinking of the plethora of shapes and colors I will have before me during the cold winter months here in Virginia. Thank you all for listening (this has been really getting at my conscience) and I appreciate your support. Susie- Just wanted to give you a BIG hug for that Frosty Pink that you gave me- it grew HUGE! Probably 40x BIGGER than the double white Candida that you also gave me! Anyway- Frosty just started blooming 2 nights ago- then I today got a frost warning, so I had to cut her down! I took many GREAT mature cuttings from her. She had so many unopened blooms, so sad! :( I am preparing them for rooting in my garage til I can contact everyone who wanted them- ALSO- I will most likely have plenty left if someone out there still wants some for postage & handling! By the way- I really love Phyllis, my neighbor- she is the true picture of pure Southern charm & hospitality! Last summer when her field full of iris' stopped blooming, she asked me if I wanted any, cuz'she was thinning them out & was going to throw them away anyway... so I said sure! So she drives her John Deere lawn mower over with a wagon full of iris in it, & dumped them on my driveway! I couldn't deal with all of them so I planted many & threw the rest in the woods & covered them with leaves to protect them from the heat.. later, my sweet sister in law came over,- & went away with tons! Still have more left there.... I will probably be trading them off next spring.... I am blessed! Friends are the sweetest riches one could have! Later- Kasha77

Dweeb, I didn't have a week either. They all had to come in from 5pm to sometime early in the morning last night for me too. I got delirious and the whole last few days is kinda running together. What happened to fall? Now waiting to see what all I killed. When I left for work I looked things over real quick and uncovered everything. When I got home tonight there was considerably more damage than I realized. I am thinking most of it caused by me out there with a flashlight strapped to head doped up on pain pills and a margarita in the wee morning hours, lol. Glad I decided to bring my pot of coleus in at the last minute too. The ones in the ground are toast now and I broke the foliage off sooo many bulbs. I'm gonna take a pain pill and go to bed. My arm is spasming. Can't type anymore tonight. Night all.

Grrrr - I went to re-arrange some of the cutting in the BOB after sending stuff out because getting them out was a bit difficult on the side. some of the roots were one big tangled mess. Lift one, 3 were lifting with it. Thought - ok. . .let's figure out what is going on. Desiree was lost its leaves and the Angels Moonlight leaves were turning yellow. Well - found out Charles wasn't playing so nice over there. Wrapped completely around the bubble rod and was choking out the others in the vicinity. THAT'S not very nice. Found one of my little sunrays down there - still hanging in there from under water - My suzie Qs are rockin' fine - a Xena cutting (one) - doing nothing but not dead. . . Most have these have hairballs for root systems right now - and others have larger roots. Guess I'm gonna bump a couple up to soil to free up some space. Not sure Desiree is gonna make it now - might have rescued it too late. Might have another casualty coming. Gloria: re: Lassie ROTF - (bark!) What's that? (bark!) (bark!) Lucy fell down the well?
