Indigo as a host plant?

I have several Blue False Indigo (Baptisia Australis) plants in the gardens and a couple of days ago I heard some loud munching. After investigating I found a caterpillar munching on one of the green pods. I quickly went in the house to get the camera but was interrupted and when I returned I could not find the cat. From what I recall it was at least 2 inches long, not a fat cat and had some rusty, orangy colour to some of it's body. Any ideas?

I've been out there looking for it but it is evading me. Lots of pods have been munched on.
