Need to Amend 45 Degree Berm...
Comments (3)Are you sure your berm is a 45 degree slope? That's very steep for a berm - these are usually designed to be no more than a 5:1 or 4:1 slope, or about 20 degrees. Or better yet, the normal angle of repose for the soil it is constructed of. And how tall is it? It sounds more like a steep hillside rather than a berm. And since berms are typically manmade, soil amending is not often an issue - it is usually already amended by virtue of it being imported soil or if fill, amended as necessary before planting. With that steep a slope, it is hard to consider any type of mulch that will not slough off with any rains or with irrigation (one of the primary reasons berms have a maximum slope recommendation). You could try mulching with whatever amendment you choose but would need something like jute netting or other erosion control fabric to hold it in place. Otherwise you would need to work it into the soil but with that steep a surface, it will be hard to apply and you risk destabilization just by working it....See MoreCrane 45 degree faucet and spout
Comments (6)These days most faucet manufacturers use flex lines to connect the water lines under the counter, so you can make use of that fact today, when you get any two handles and connect them onto that unusual 45 degree angle shelf. Any spout you like will fit onto the horizontal part of the shelf. "Shelf mount" was the term used back then, because it is a surface that projects out from the wall. To keep it simple, get the handles and spout from the same company. Then, you know their hose connections will be compatible. Verify this before ordering anything. Definitely use the key word "commercial" in talking to the tech support people when you call anyone. The right spout and two separate valves using flex lines to connect to the spout. This will be in the "commercial" lines. In web sites, look for the commercial faucets section. If no luck, look in the bathroom faucets section. There are many that use flex lines. Moen and Marathon (div. of Chicago Faucets) are two companies that I can think of that I would start with. I happen to know some Moen parts for single handle valves: 8137 with spout and 8125 without spout (you install another shaped spout). If you look at their exploded parts diagrams you will see the flex lines. Ask the company what they can suggest in 2-valves instead of 1-mixer-valve. There are many commercial faucet companies. An old time plumbing supply house may be able to help you spot a few options right away. Today, it is not a problem that the valves (handles) are on a 45 degree sloping surface. Comments (19)This kitchen started out with laminate countertops and the edge was not square, it was angled just the way the granite countertop is. In any case I really like having one door, not a bi-fold to access the lazy susans in the lower cupboard. Lazy susans are a full 350 degrees and have sturdy ball bearings, looks identical to the ones natesgramma posted....See MoreCherry tree leaning 45 degrees
Comments (2)Just replant. The tree will probably lose some leaves out of transplant shock but will grow new ones. try to keep as much of the original roots as possible intact. Then stake it for several months to make sure it stays straight. No biggie....See More- 14 years ago
