guess what I saw today..

Went out to the garage to get them mower, and looked up and saw a big old black snake raised up and looking down in an empty 5 gal. bucket !! I see them all the time, but not doing that !! We have lots of snakes here... very few bad ones. I wish I would have had my camera, and I would have gotten it's picture !!

Better you Edna than me. After all my recent run in with snakes if I never see another one it will be just fine with me. LOL I've also seen an abundance of toads and frogs with spring. I can't walk without having to be careful where I put my foot. The other day I killed two of them by accident. I ran the lawn mower over them, I think they were doing something nasty because one was on top of the other and that's how they died. Poor things, I felt so bad, but this place is running a muck with frogs, toads, lizards, snakes, LOL and who knows what all else. The Beavers were attempting to take over the lake and we had to go beaver hunting. They were cutting all the trees down and they were falling into the lake/pond making a dam and so forth. They had to go......we ran them off to the neighbors ponds. LOL

Isn't nature just wonderful?. You just never know what your going to see lurking around in the darndest places.

1--The bad news is that the local postmaster who has been so helpful in the past is no longer there. He is no longer employed by the USPS....sigh 2--This AM I called about making an appointment with the person in charge. I spoke with the 'officer in charge'. When I asked his name, he gave me his first name, and would not give me his last name. Why would he have refused me that info? 3--I explained that I had several padded mailers that I had received in and they were unopened, and the customers who had sent them had been overcharged. I was wanting to bring them in, and have him (or anyone for that matter) inspect them and determine that they had indeed been overcharged. I explained that I then wanted a signed piece of paper saying that they were overcharged. He said he could not help me and gave me the telephone number of Consumer Affairs in Louisville. Well, I know from talking to someone down there a while back that there was at that time no Consumer Affairs Manager and that NO ONE was even an acting manager. gggrrrrrrrr........ 4--This week I received in a bubblie from Williamsport OH 46134 that was overcharged. It weighed .7 OZ yet was charged $1.05, which is for a 2 OZ large envelope. That means that either the clerk failed to weigh it, or else their scale needs calibration, thus is overcharging a lot of customers. I got a tel# for that PO, and when I called it, I get a non working # recording.........ggggrrrrrrr.........shot down on getting that done. 5--I was on the phone probably 30 minutes or so this AM with the USPS complaint #, getting 3 separate complaints filed. I have the confirmation numbers on all 3 of them and someone is supposed to call me back within 2 business days. Yeah right. I'm not holding my breath on that one. On the one report that was filed for overcharge, I have asked that the overcharge be sent to me. I wonder how they are going to handle that. shall I go on? Anyway, I this AM I learned about Restricted Delivery. Below is the info on that. Restricted Delivery Be sure your mail gets into the right hands. When you want your mail to reach a specific recipient, use Restricted Delivery. Sometimes, you might have private or highly classified documents that you require to be seen only by the addressee. Restricted Delivery ensures that your mail is only delivered to the person you specify, or to the person authorized in writing to sign for intended recipient. I just checked and the cost on a 13 OZ First Class Parcel, sent Certified, with Restricted Delivery signature and signed receipt of the person that accepted it being sent back to me would be less than $11. The exact amount escapes me now. What a bargain, huh, if the Parcel gets to someone who does their job? I have started to compose my letter to The Honorable John E. Potter..but will have to abandon that until I am feeling better. Postmaster General U.S. Postal Service 475 L'Enfant Plaza, SW Washington, DC 20260-0010 I also found an email address for him this AM, not that anyone would even really read any of the complaint emails and actually respond. I found the addy at the Answers.com site, so don't put much faith in it being up to date or valid. E-mail: pmgceo@usps.gov Light bulb moment. I can try taking in the overcharged envelopes, (one at a time might be best) along with an email from the member who sent them and they can authorize me to file for and collect the overcharged amount. I would think that would generate paperwork and that paperwork could then be used as additional evidence (proof) of the 2 year 9 month old problems of post offices across the US overcharging.

hahahaaa maybe I should have whipped out the phone and turned on the camera and asked her to strike a pose for me! She might have been thrilled. I mean if she didn't want that kind of attention why the heck was she dressed that way. The thing that still just strikes me as so strange is that she was a very pretty classy looking lady maybe in her 30's and from the waist up was dressed very nicely and her shoes had to be very expensive. I was just really glad at least she had the dark control top type so that part was not see through LOL Maybe she thought that counted as shorts !

Living in Oklahoma and Texas I have seen plenty of twisters and I agree with you the way the smoke coiled and twisted up to the cloud is giving it a little bit of a twister look. I get what you are saying, not really a twister but smoke that gives you the impression of a twister. And seeing it at a glance would have made even me stop and take a closer look. Beautiful area of countryside. Dinner was wings at Buffalo Wild wings and a very long wait, they had 700 to go orders, people were waiting in line at to go for well over an hour. We sat down and waited for almost an hour to get ours. I thought a war was going to break out at the counter. It was crazy people were getting up and walking out without getting food it was taking so long. Good thing I went in not very hungry, but by the time the food came I was definitely glad to see it.

I love snakes, frogs, lizzards also. I was cleaning the pond today, run my hand down across the bottom to get old leaves out, and pulled up a big old bullfrog !! He scared the snot out of me :0

I like lizards and frogs but not snakes and spiders. I found 2 huge leopard geckos living in my breaker box. I said what the heck are you doing in there? Get out in my garden and eat bugs, lol. I saw a little one today in the garage. I wonder if its the same one that lived in there with the plants this winter. I left the door open so he could get out if he wanted to. I'm glad I didn't see a big old snake. I swear one will give me a heart attack one day. I usually only see little ones here thank goodness. My nephew used to cry when we were driving down the road in the rain and frogs were everywhere and he just knew we were running over them. Probably were but not much you can do when the road it covered with them.

I didn't know that Leopard geckos were wild in TX. I have a breeding pair and they sell them in pet stores here. They're really cute and my big male loves sitting on my shoulder while I'm walking around the house. My girl is a nasty little thing and bites. It's a good thing she doesn't have teeth!

I had a King Snake right next to the dog water yesterday ..He had a big old lump in his belly must just snacked on one of my toads...LOL
It is that time of yr... Most of the snakes around the house are Copperheads.. We don't have nearly as many as we use to...

I'm with Marian -- do not want to see or be near a snake! Edna, pulling up a frog! That would have totally freaked me out! It isn't so much that I am afraid of frogs, but to feel one unexpectly under water, no way! When I was a kid, my brother and I spent a summer in El Paso, TX with my aunt. There were lots of scorpions and I saw one by my headboard one day and had very bad nightmares for days.

I think they are leapard geckos. They have spots, lol. I have to look them up or try to take a pic. I have never seen any so huge and fat as the two in the fuse box. I hope they don't hurt anything in there. The small ones I see are almost see through. They are cool too but this is like a steroid version in the box. Too much medication maybe, lol. I will take the camera out with me when I am able to get up without the room spinning so bad. Its a little better right now. I hate being sick. We have scorpions here too but have only seen one twice and both were small but both times were in the house just before I moved out of both of them. Since I don't ever plan on moving again maybe I won't see anymore I hope, lol.

O I wish I had critters like that in my yard..well, except for the copperheads & scorpions, lol. I do get snakes, only DeKay Brown snakes though.
I am hoping that by having the pond I will attract some kinda critters besides raccoons. I know they'll be trying to eat my fish when I get them.

Kristy, when you are feeling better (which will be very soon I hope) please try and get a pic of the lizards, I'd love to see!!
