I don't know the species, but i'm pretty sure they are both haworthia of some sort.

You've been missed. The first looks like a Gasteraloe (the flowers will help ID the hybrid) and the second like an Aloeworthia.

I think #2 is a gasteraloe also with Aloe aristata as a parent

I always mis-ID it, Mara - probably has something to do with the fact that I couldn't grow them worth a tinker's dam.

Jeff, They just love this Texas sun.

here it is younger. My variety has a bit fatter leaf than yours. I have seen many variations of the gasteraloe using the Aloe aristata as a parent with plentu deviations.
