Latest pic of mother Jade to all the ones I sent out!

Here is the latest picture taken today of how well it is growing after a severe chop last fall..

Now for the first time, I have been letting it sit outside in the morning sun with cool nights, and I can see the colors coming through remarkably fast!

Thanks for all your ideas..:-) It is only put in a popup greenhouse when the temps go below the 40's like last night.

Here are a couple of Jades givin to me by a couple of generous people here. Hummel sunsets, starting to color up fast planted in very loose well draining soil in my garden..

Hi Mike, that is really a beautiful Jade! Mine from you is starting to loose the pretty reds from the cold/sun...turning more green as we start to heat up, it is doing well so far. Hope your hummel sunset starts coloring up for you, all my Jades are starting to lose the pretty colors now that we're in the 80's pretty much consistently. Thanks for posting!

Good morning, Mike!
Your Jade has filled in quite nicely! I can't even see where it was pruned!

I think you've planted your other Jades in the garden too early, though. I won't
plant mine outside for another month, not until night-time temps are consistently
above 50Â°F.

Nodakgal, I'm very excited for you! Those little buds must be so exciting to see in person, getting them to bloom in North Dakota no less. Well, I think you hit it on the nail. Apparently, they will bloom only when they want too...since you had two pots in the same area, got the same treatment but only this one bloomed makes me think its not always going to have the same results even when treated the same way. Its not very common to get these to bloom for us in containers, especially outside of CA. I've been waiting almost 5 years for mine to bloom. Whatever it was that made yours bloom, I'm very happy for you! Wish we knew what it was,lol... Thanks for posting! Enjoy them.

Pug...That is so nice of you to share as you said you would with others...Even though, your plants still look very healhy..I'll bet it just might flower someday...The coloring is very nice even if no flowers..Thank you.. Josh..Wow did your cutting grow...You are right..It seems like the first year of growing from a cutting is slower than the second...They all look so nice...What a difference from when you recieved it..Thanks man! Nodakgal...I am suprised there is no color, although the plants look very healthy...If it doesn't color up come spring, I will e-mail you....Thank you for posting a pic.. Jojo...I am SHOCKED that your babies would be slow pokes...lol..One would think that givin the ebst enviroment like Arizona, they would outpace all of ours..I bet they just don't like HOT and that's it.. Thanks Cactus is Pediocactus simpsonii- The seedlings are doing good,I moved them outside with my 2 baby Takil seedlings-I have 6 more Takil coming-3 more WagxNanus,3 Oreophilus and 3 Geminisectus. With as rare as these palms are,I want to have as many as is reasonable!-Vic is not the only Trachyhead-LOL Here are some more pics of the yard and a better pic of the cactus flower-thanks for looking guys! Most of the forums I've been on only allow editing for anywhere from an hour or two to a few days. The reasoning, as I understand it, is that threads quickly become incoherent if people go back and change content that people have already responded to. Or something like that. OTOH, forum administrators can always delete content for privacy or if you don't want something you said out there for some reason, so long as it's reasonable to do it, though Houzz could be so hands off that they don't actually have someone on staff with the time to keep up with the demands.

Hi Mike, your jade is fanastic....
looking better and better....
mine is still yellow and not changing at all yet..
mine too can't go out for a while yet, its minnesota
and we can still have a chance of freezing and brrrrrrrrrrr snow....after the first of May all my plants
go outside for the summer, in my cove that hubby built last year...I'll have to post a picture when I get them all outside....
