No one sells plants here because the terms of service prohibit it.

That goal of 100 leaves is going to take some years (+4 at least) in Phoenix, never mind Ontario / Michigan. This plant isn't that cold-hardy, so you're going to have to move it inside for the winter.

You can go that route or you can go to the Exchange Forum here (if you're registered in the US) or the Canadian Forums - there's an exchange page there.

There are different forms of A. striata, some will never have 100 leaves, and I dare say none will achieve that lofty goal so far north.

As for the trade, I searched and found the trade section, this site really is hard to navigate thru. I was browsing thru the trade and not much. Everyone wants to trade. I was hoping to buy succulents thru shipping. Can anyone maybe refer me someone who does? Thanks

It is called the exchange forum because it's for exchanging plants. You want cuttings for shipping costs, right? It's something I used to do - every now and then folks here offer cuttings for shipping, but I don't remember anything lately.

Yea, I mean the cost of the plant + shipping. You get better quality, quantity and price by hobbyiests. Ive been selling and buying aquatic plants online for years which is far better than buying from pet shops. In the same way, I was hoping there would be a market like that. Also, since I dont have any plants to trade, I would be interested in buying.

Then you're asking for online nursery recommendations? I understood you wanted cuttings, now you want plants. If the latter is the case, any reputable online nursery, and here are four, will be the answer to your question.

here is my A. striata. I guess it is a different variety from GS's. I thought it was a A gemniflora But now they tell me it is a A. dtriata of sorts. It is over 12 years old and keeps puping along its growth point after blooming so It has not died yet. But it does not make a perfect ball shape. I like it anyway. I think it is hardy to Z8a. Good for me.

Doesn't look much like A. striata from here, which features wicked, stiff leaves with strong terminal spines. One of the few Agaves I won't go near.

OTOH, that is definitely not an A. geminiflora stalk.

Over at XW , they have said that it is mostlikely not a Gemniflora. It is hardier than a gemniflora and the pupping behavior made them think it was a Striata. I gor it at Yuccadoo and they were pretty confused the day I went there and I lost the tag.

Here is a description from Yuccadoo: He mentions a variety with long weepy flexible leaves. My agave has always been a puzzler. I got seed off of it.

As mentioned up-thread, no selling on GardenWeb.

You could check member's pages & look for Trade list. You may be lucky enough to find someone offering cuttings for trade; if you don't have anything to trade now, send them personal e-mail & maybe you can arrange something.
Or directly contact members that you see here having plants you may be interested in (most have personal e-mail addy on member's page).
If you want cuttings sent from USA to Canada, remember there are certain laws/rules/conditions & it may be more difficult. (So it would be easier to get stuff from Canadian members). Looks like you may have Detroit (?) location - in that case no problem to get the cuttings shipped there. So few Canadian members are offering cuttings...
Otherwise use the nurseries mentioned. Some will ship to Canada too.

Thank you for the response, especially rina, thats exactly what I was thinking about, but thought there would be a sales section.

Im not liking the nurseries because its too expensive. $5 for 1 small plant + $7 to $12 shipping. I want to purchase a few different clippings from members who will obviously price it less (shipping is no problem). atm Im looking into succulents, seedums, aloe or Kalanchoe, you know the easy to grow stuff.

Im in both areas regularly, usually everything is cheaper in US so I order everything there and leave it to my brother to take care (hes also into plants).
