Could be an early blight but I am unsure. I identified leafhoppers earlier in the season but I didn't want to spray because I didn't think they were a problem. By the way how do you know if they are a problem? How many are too many? When I brushed the leaves they would fly all over, but I didn't see any visible damage to the plants at that time. Anyway, to answer your questions, We planted them around end of April ( I know a little late for our area) and right now they are all flowering. When is the end of the season for potatoes here in stlouis? thanks kendra

Thanks for your replies. I have been keeping them dry but it rained last night and tomorrow is forecasted as well. Hopefully the rain water isn't as harmful as the tap water. I should have left my Takil in place. The branches were pretty much green. Just really weird how the center branch that came up was completely brown and shriveled like it was burned. Strange. I will let all know how these 2 turn out. Crossing my fingers. -Chip

I would suggest a smaller terracotta pot (this would be temporary). keep the mix slightly moist and use a plastic bag over top of the plant (propped up by sticks or something similar, so that the plastic bag is not touching the plant) don't tie the bag closed so there is some fresh air. I would also remove the bag periodically (every few days or so) and leave it off for a few hours. The point of the bag is to increase the amount of humidity, removing the bag gives you the opportunity to check the soil and make sure the plant is not getting worse and allows the plant to get fresh air. You want to place this plant in its "mini Greenhouse" in a bright (but no direct sun) position and keep the plant as warm as is possible. Good Luck Fred

You could add both - I know Lena said it is not necessary (and it isn't an absolute must), but anything that will make the mix more porous is a plus. Especially if you are heavy waterer or if your plants are outdoors where it rains more often. I don't remember if you mentioned your general location (it is good to indicate by your name - as you can see most ppl do); I am in Ontario, Canada and have to bring plants inside for the winter but keep them all outdoors otherwise. All my succulents are in a mix of grit+perlite+turface and have been for almost 4 years now.
