What do you grow with Cerastostigma plumbaginoides?

I have some Cerastostigma plumbaginoides (dwarf plumbago). I like it because it doesn't require much care or water and it has lovely blue flowers.

The only problem is it is deciduous from winter till late spring so there's a big bare spot for several months.

Can you suggest some plants to grow in the same space?

Thanks!
