Oh yeah, If you even have so much as a few, you'll have to deal with them! They get out there every year so early (a week or two before the blues) and start chirping from the top of that nest box. (So annoying) lol I put the Van Ert in a box where I couldn't get a HOSP the previous evening and watched in the morning from the house as he kept landing on the front, and then you hear a "Snap!" TRAPPED!!!!

I had the opposite problem a few months ago. My dog is a major scavanger herself. And she likes to swallow things whole before you can get it out of her, when she gets caught. She started throwing up everything one night, and didnt try to eat it (number one sign that she isnt feeling well!) and the next day she just laid there shaking looking up at me with eyes that said "Please help" which is also unusual as normally she's uncontrollably hyper in the mornings. And when I let her out, she squatted, and immediatly yelped and dropped to her stomach. So I rushed her to the vet, they did all sorts of xrays, kept her over night, gave her enimas. And discovered..she'd eaten grass clippings. All that cause she found a clump of grass and ate it. Little brat!

Thank you so much! I took a look at other pics, and I think that you are right! I live in Northern Iowa, and it appears that he may be a bit out his normal range. What a treat! I will have to see what he likes to eat, to help him stick around. He does seem to like the grape jelly I have out for the orioles. Thanks again! MonaRae
