You know what I'm thinking? A little early, I know

I go back to last year - the end of February - beginning of the last week - Nesting material being placed in the nestbox when the ground was still covered with snow!

That very bird turned out to be a Hosp! I live in Ohio so the guy was early and ready! Eventually got him with the good ole Van-Ert trap.

I'm already thinking about those early morning hosp eliminations - That's the staple of the beginning of the nesting season - Trapping HOSP - Who get out there before the blues do. Won't be long, I tell ya!

I had a flock of about 30 show up last month, my heart sank. Thank God they were only here 2 -3 days. I hope they don't come back. The are a few that have overwintered in a huge dense pine the next property over (about 10 acres. I know I will have to deal with them. UUUGGGG

Oh yeah, If you even have so much as a few, you'll have to deal with them! They get out there every year so early (a week or two before the blues) and start chirping from the top of that nest box. (So annoying)

lol I put the Van Ert in a box where I couldn't get a HOSP the previous evening and watched in the morning from the house as he kept landing on the front, and then you hear a "Snap!" TRAPPED!!!!
