repotting in general vs. "regular" plants

After a decades-long love affair with "regular" house plants, I've been cheating on the side with sux. I don't think it's just an affair, looks like the situation is permanently polygamous now. Furniture has been moved, new sleeping arrangements...

So with an eye to the future, I realize I don't know how these new plants feel about how I usually repot plants at least once a year. Either the roots have filled the pot or the mix has degraded to muck, or both. I've made a more chunky mix for the sux, and they will not be watered as often, but there is OM in the mix that will eventually degrade.

The regular house plants love to be repotted, roots trimmed, new soil, the whole bit. Besides the actual stems and foliage being so "breakable," thus more risky in that regard, do sux generally appreciate this as much as other plants? Do the roots grow that fast?

What are the differences in the general guidelines for repotting sux, if any?
