Many of the Crassulaceae will grow adventitious roots. I can't seen to the detail I need to to confirm that, but perhaps that's what your plant is doing.

The picture was taken a few days before it started the tiny, white hairs and was more for identification purposes, in case I was mistaken about the plant. Sorry about that! I can get a picture of the hairs if it turns out there's a good chance it's something of concern. They're pretty miniscule. Wispy, I guess I'd say, and thinner than a stand of human hair. I'm only concerned because these Crassulaceae were in a bad way when they were rescued and are still pretty fragile.

The plant on the right is none other than anacampseros telephiastrum (sunrise plant). The one on the left looks like a sedum. I have one just like it that's blooming clusters of little yellow flowers right now. Don't have the specific name but I'm 90% sure it's a sedum.

Thank you for the kind responses! And a sunrise plant it most definitely is. And a sedum-- yes, looks as if that's it! In the photo of the sunrise plant, I can see the tiny white "hairs" I was speaking of. :) It's becoming clear those are totally normal. I appreciate the help.

You both have the intergeneric hybrid, X Cremnosedum 'Little Gem'.

The one to the far right in my picture that is partially pink is an Portulaceae anacampersios, variegated form.
Make sure you look it up just to be sure. Mine is slow growing and loses color in the Winter, the green forms don't color up. It does have hair like pictured in your plant. The plant is the same even if I made a typo Norma

Is everyone looking like they're planted in big enough pots? I'm questioning the haworthia and unsure how deep that little guy's roots are gonna go.

What Haworthia, where is that? Some do have deep roots, depending on the species. Norma

In the picture linked in the first post, it is in the back, in the group of three little ones. Unless I'm more of a succulent idiot than I predicted and I'm totally wrong... but I think it's a haworthia attenuata? The different varieties of haworthia are sometimes a little bit of a question mark for me.

Your Haworthia attenuata will eventually grow to fit a four-inch diameter pot. Roots spread out laterally, but only need a few-inches of soil depth. This plant is a prolific pupper, so you will have nice little cluster in a couple of years. Your plants all look fine where they are now. Happy growing!

Thank you, Brad! Good to know. Mine has two little pups, and I've been watching it. Of course I'd move them to a larger pot long before their reaching the edge of the pot or being clearly crowded, but I just wasn't certain at what point it'd be best to give 'em more space.

Hey that was sure nice of you to send that picrure or the haworthia, it's exactly what I thought it was going to be, I just didn't know which one, there are several H. attunata the form willl make a nice big clump, and you can plant them out in the garden if you weather permits. They are wonderful give away plants for children, they don't bite. I still could not see in back of the first row of white pots, just too dark, I wonder if I can make my screen brighter? Norma

Also, Norma, if you could see the haworthia in the picture, that's all you needed to see. :) The picture cuts off just above the haworthia, and you can't see the plants that are behind it, so you don't need to fight to adjust your computer settings. All that you can see behind the haworthia are the pots of my two jade plants. The only haworthia I have is the little guy you just saw. In the spring I hope to find a couple other varieties.

Teetree, I have a little over 500 named Howorthia plants and another 500 to give away. I was floored when I found out that there were 40+ H. cymbiformis forms, I really can't tell the difference yet nor what to look for. I really like them as well, they are small enough for me to handle. Norma

Teatree, is there any way you can post me a picture of that Crassula, I just can't find it in the picture. If doesn't show up, I do know Crassual when I see them. I can't see behind the two pictures in front in the white pots. Now I am getting really curious. Don't get mixed up, Crassulaceae are not Crassula, there are many genus of Crassulaceae and Crassula is just one of them. I want to know if you have the species Crassula, Norma

You previously identified it as a Portulaceae anacampersios, variegated form, for me, so that's all taken care of.

But your plant is an Anacampseros, is it not?

The only one I can think of that might be like that is A. rufescens, but I never knew my Anacampseros with any certainty.

And I'm speaking of the plant in your Feb 15, 11 at 21:53 posting, just to make sure.

If you're speaking of previous posts, I must apologize for not knowing the proper name of the plant to begin with. It does look like a Anacampseros rufescens 'Sunrise' to me, but I have no experience with Anacampseros at all.

Jeff yes it is Anacampseos rufescens I found a picture of the species, but not a picture of a variegated one. I do have the variegated plant and it looks awful this time of the year. Look in SUCCULENTS The Illustrated Dictiionary, I will look for a picture in color. It will cite the feature of the little hairs as a featire of that species. Because of the color they are very popular in So. Calif. nurseries. Crassula was my speciality about 8 year ago, so I do know the difference. In Jacobsens Dictionary it give a full description and accetped alternate names. Norma

Cute plants, you've been given good IDs. I believe I've seen those pots in HD & the ones I've seen didn't have drainage holes, but the plants were actually in small plastic pots w/ drainage holes INSIDE the colored glazed pots. I hope yours have drainage holes or you'll likely have trouble w/ them in the future.

I've grown that pinkish Anacampseros, don't know its name beyond that. I believe the tiny hairs are just the way it grows (mine had them too). I think yours will need more sun to keep that pink color, otherwise it may green up.

I forget where those little pots came from, but I think the plants that were in them were in plastic pots with drainage holes placed within the colored glazed pots, yes, and the glazed pots didn't have drainage holes... which is what I expected; those things never have holes. I brought them to my father to see if we could get holes drilled in the five of them without them breaking, and miraculously only one of them broke into several pieces. With holes, they're really good little pots.

Teatree if you live in the U.S. I would like to send you a suprise. I really mean it. Crassulace all speceis, and Haworthia all species, are winter growers. So now is the time for me to send it. The Haworthia may be callded 'Big Band' because of the wide strong white hortizontal bands. I have an H. attunata that is almost white with pink showing at the base. That is just a special form, I can't tell by the picture how big the bands are actually, I have friends that have upwards of 2200 two friends that have full proffessional greenhouse full of Haworthia, mine is considered a nice small collection for beinig that size. Oh my gosh, Norma! I'm basically brand new here, so what a shock to hear! I don't know what to say... you certainly don't have to because that is an expense for shipping and I don't have anything plant-wise to send you as a thank-you. That's how many of us C&S people are - you just have to get used to fabulous generosity. Just be careful or you'll rapidly have no room, owing to all of the cuttings/plants folks would send you.

Very true... I had 1 trade where I sent 4 rooted plants and I received about 80 different succulent varieties. Some of the people online here are very generous and have collections with big old plants that need to be trimmed every now and again. You know making cuts promotes branching. Lol

BTW: Thanks for the id. I too have a H.Attenuata which came in a mixed planter. I always confuse the white for mealie bugs, since I am accustomed to searching for them on some of my Hoyas. Is this plant susceptable to mealie infestation?

Oh, I already have little room... but so what. :) What it looks like I really need to do, though, is get more pots. Spring is coming, so regardless, I'm bound to get into trouble when the nurseries start to re-open. And that trade sounds incredible, David, though I personally would be royally screwed because I don't have the space, nor the pots! Aha.
