Comments (2)Rusty I'm new here and these grayish little bugs are destroying my tomatoes! There are a great many of them on and around my tomatoes. They are eating holes in them. I am not a "true" gardener but I did plant a couple of this year. I wonder if these are the same bug that you asked about. I too would like to know how to get rid of them. Good luck to you!...See More**Mealy bugs?** + **Plant ID help, please!** [5 pics]
Comments (11)Cheryl Yes, while jades can handle some soil as a part of mix, gritty/gravely mix is good - great drainage, air exchange. I think pruning depends on your 'vision' of finished plant. I personally like them potted single, with thick trunk. Others may have different likes. I like bonsai styles, but don't have enough knowledge... I would prune all of the branches - make them short; most likely I would cut off the thick one and pot it as separate plant. It is good time to do it. Yes to acclimatizing, especially if they were indoors for a while. Also if re-potting and pruning - I would keep them in some dapple shade/filtered sun to begin with (not necessary to bring them in), and keep putting into more sun every 2/few days (I don't know where you are). Here is photo of one with 'extra' branch, before: (there are many good threads on pruning on this forum - search for 'chopping jades')and after: If you like to start new thread, after opening Cacti& Succulent forum, there is large 'box' on top; put title of your thread in top column (where it sayz Example title), and continue with text & photos below. I wouldn't start new one on this subject - it's already 'running' and would be duplication. You could put zone/general location next to your name, it will eliminate questions "where are you located" :) Rina...See MoreMealy bugs and BATS question.
Comments (20)TG, I had to go look up Brand X and it seemed kinda pricey on their website, so I went to Amazon. (By the way, it's a lot cheaper on Amazon...) I know you really like it, but the reviews weren't great. I can't resist sharing one that made me laugh out loud... "Having been suckered into buying PM wash myself, I can only warn you not to be as foolish. When I got the product home, I looked at the label, and the ingredient statement reads as follows: Water . . . . . . . . 99.9999% Inert Ingredients . . 0.0001% In other words you're paying $15 (plus shipping) for pure water. (I paid a lot less than Amazon's price.) There are NO active ingredients. To be certain it was mere water, I actually took a mouthful. After tasting nothing unusual, I called the idiot hippie that sold me the quart and complained. According to him, this water is subjected to "ionizing radiation" which gives it magical properties which kill mold and mildew. "Sort of like a force field, huh?" I replied in mockery, but he agreed. When I told him that I had drank some, he began murmuring darkly, but I cut him off. "Why not drink it? It's purer than what comes out of the tap!" You will notice that nowhere does NPK Industries, the bottler of this magic water, make any claim as to what it might cure or correct. The label merely states that it "may be used as often as needed through all phases of plant life up to and including the day of harvest." It doesn't say that it can be used to treat, much less cure, any plant, animal or human condition. This is what happens when you vote Republican. Thanx to the glories of "deregulation," scam artists such as NPK Industries are given a free ticket to dupe as many unsuspecting people as they wish." Denise in Omaha, still laughing...See Morekaryn1
