New look for GW - Issue?
Comments (17)Jean: You may want to log out and then log back in and maybe then the colors will change for you. Seems like they updated the info and found forum members are sending in their suggestions with some issues. Here is the Info: For more than a decade GardenWeb has provided a free and open platform for the exchange of ideas, questions and answers, and general support for gardeners, home and apartment fix-it-uppers and and all around Do It Yourself (DIY) enthusiasts. Recently we asked you to tell us what could do to make GardenWeb better and promised to act quickly on those suggestions. We have started to make good on that promise, introducing new features like the ability to edit posts after you have made them and being able to upload photos with your messages. At the same time we have fixed a number of minor bugs and continued to enhance the site's speed, stability and security. In short we have been busy working in the garden! Today we are excited to begin rolling out a new logo, updated headers and footers, and some general page layout improvements. In the coming weeks and months we will continue to improve the GardenWeb service. Some of the specific projects we are working on include improving: - the quality of search and discovery - site navigation and overall ease of use - member profiles and personalized services - iPhone, Android and tablet support As with any change there may be unexpected consequences, but we are committed to addressing them as soon as we learn about them, guided at all times by our overarching motto to "do no harm". Feedback you have given us to date have set our priorities and will continue to guide our direction. We look forward to continuing to give you what have asked for. And, as always, we welcome your comments. Team GardenWeb ************************************ Update: 2.12.2013 Thank you for all of your helpful and constructive feedback. We are currently working on the following updates/issues: - Softening the page display on the message forum pages. This includes color and font weight changes. - Photos and text overlapping into the advertisement area. - Mac/Safari layout issues....See MoreHelp! Help! Im addicted to GW!!! Is there a 12-step program?
Comments (16)Wow you summed it up, there should be a 12 step program. Right now I am supposed to be working, which by the way has a deadline of 3 o'clock today, but no here I am checking things out on here. I am so addicted!! I wish so much I found this site sooner because I would have made some different decisions with my kitchen remodel, but am grateful I finally stumbled on it. When I think back, poor Buehl, I had no idea what I was doing and would email her directly with all my questions. She was always so kind and responded everytime. Finally figured out how to post( which was so easy), but I was in a mess with a leak that cuased the whole remodel and in a real hurry for answers and didn't take the time to figure it out. SORRY BUEHL AND THANK YOU!!!! Love-love-love this site.........See MoreI am having issues with GW
Comments (6)Capegirl, Me Toooooo!!! I was already to sign up as Boxerpups2 just to be able to post. Clearly I am an addict to GW. I was strung out, stressed, walking around work like I needed a fix, I kept trying to log on and the would pout about angry that GW was not letting me post. :*( But it is all better and I am back to reading my GW. Truly happy to have my fix. ~boxerpups...See MoreNew to GW? You need to Add your zone/ location to your name!Heres how:
Comments (10)Not everyone knows their zone or even understands what it means. Say there was a poster from Saudi Arabia, for example, or China. If they would just put roughly their region into their name it might helpful. Marie: if people included their zone and/or their city/region in their name as it shows up upon posting, especially when they posted a question about a IDing a shrub, then it would be a lot easier to ID it without having to ask a lot of followup questions...which may or may never get answered by the original poster (OP). So, it would save me, the ID'er and the OP time. So it is critical information for certain questions or posts, but not all. I dont' want to have to click on their name to try to find more information -- which may or may not be there. Also, I see you have a (6) by your name -- assume that is zone? A zone number by itself is somewhat helpful, but a cold desert zone 6 is completely different than a Mid-Atlantic zone 6, so there is still some ambiguity in that. A region of a state would be a helpful addition, for example...SW Ohio or Eastern Colorado Plains....See Moresplinter1804
