Thanks for the fun I had in my garden this summer

Thanks to all the helpful advice and a few generous people who sent me seeds last winter, I had a blast in my garden this year.

I can't explain it exactly, but there was something about those winter-sown seeds blooming and growing that really gave me a thrill. Even though we had a summer of drought here, I still managed to grow quite a few flowers.

I grew a bunch of heirloom tomatoes that tasted better than any tomato I've ever eaten. Initially I waited and waited for them to turn red, only to finally figure out that they are actually a gold tomato. It was so much fun to grow something so new to me. My usual tomato growing has been limited to whatever plants I could buy at the garden center.

I am anxiously awaiting winter so I can plant seeds again. I have the soil and lots of clean milk jugs ready.
