Thanks for your help: harryshoe - yes, I agree, some of the leave on Therese Bugnet look less than lovely lately. She had quite a few of those mysterious plain yellow leaves, some powdery mildew and some of the above spotty stuff, so I just trimmed her back by l/3 about two weeks ago. She's now growing nice, new foliage, except for the odd old leaf with the above spots. Michaelg - I am going out right now to dispose of them; I have to say, they are pretty ugly things. Hopefully, they haven't hatched on me! Judith

Hi!! new to posting here, but I am sharing your frustration over GSTs. I just ordered 3 more from Shady Oaks, and two bit it by the time I got up this morning. I thought maybe a tiny spider was getting the one itty bitty, but I couldnt see too well, but it may have been another cat I saw balled up over him. Thinking it was a spider, I swatted it away. So I have one lone cat left, just like last time. The last one got really big, and I guess he finally wandered off to pupate. But he sure didnt move much. So I will watch the one ittbitty. I did get some really huge PVSTs. I have never seen one! I really hope they pupate alright. And after being so sad over not getting any BSTs on my very lush fennel, I ordered some along with this order, and presto! new hatched cats! Oh and GF when just hatched look like short little yellow strings. Then they get red. I watch them munching out my kitchen window.The funny thing also is my mom thought I was insane when I started getting into this, so that my then 5 yo son could see the lifecycle, after awhile, and taking her to Shady oaks for the tour, she absolutley loves it too now. This is addictive. They're like my little babies!!--Traci

Very cool! I had one visit my garden this afternoon. It was so large I thought it was a bird at first. I looked over the outside tips on my citrus trees but it does not look like I was as lucky as you....so far! Anyways my trees are so dusty If I was a Momma Giant Swallowtail I wouldn't choose them for my eggs.

Congratulations! They're beautiful :) I always rear our cats in mesh cages on rue, it's the only way they make it in our yard. I left them out there on their own several times and even when they make it to chrysalises, they're eaten right up. It always breaks my heart to see such a good start, all gone by the end. I cut the lime leaves when there are eggs about to hatch and put them at the bottom of the rue planter in the mesh cage. I have a plate on the bottom of the cage for easy cleanup and they stay in the cage safely until they emerge. I tell everyone I know with citrus trees about them and I've found myself starting conversations at Home Depot or Lowe's when I see someone buying a citrus plant, just so they know that those not-so-pretty cats turn into huge, beautiful butterflies. I have yet to meet someone who already knew about them! Good luck and congrats again!
