Thanks to winter sowing...

While it still has some filling in to do, the full sun area behind my garage went from this:

{{gwi:431402}}

to this:

{{gwi:431403}}

{{gwi:390904}}

from May to September despite the fact that NO RAIN has fallen since the project began. With one or two exceptions, everything was winter sown this year. I can't wait to see what it looks like this time next year!

Patio bricks were dug up here & there around the property--my folks used them for mulch, along with leftover roofing shingles, scrap wood and other assorted materials. The split rail fence used to be up near the road, then down by the big flowerbed near the lilac & blueberry bushes. I think it serves a better purpose at the top of a short, very steep slope. I'll plant something viney next year to climb it, morning glories & clematis maybe.
