I assume they are indoors. If this is the case, place some kind of humidity cover over them (plastic bag will do) or stick them in an aquarium for best results. Most plants we buy at stores are grown in optimum conditions and most homes are usually too dry for these coddled plants. You have to acclimate them to their new homes over a period of time by slowly exposing them to drier air.

I have put them in ziploc bags and now I'm wondering how long do I keep them in the bags? I'm afraid that they'll get some kind of bugs or are they safe?

No, they won't get bugs unless they already had bugs. They may be more susceptible to mildew or rot but keep an eye open for problems. When the leaves start perking up, open the bag a little and continue each day until you can remove it completely. Depending on how dry your home is, you may have to provide some kind of humidity (baggie or water tray).

I bought a big 'Taurus' at a H.D. when I was in L.A. earlier this month for the National Convention. It was encased in a large cellophane bag and had been water logged. I unwrapped it in the hotel room and pulled off all the bad leaves I could find. Then it got crammed in my suitcase for the trip along with 50 other begonias. I exposed it to bright light, removed lots of leaves (rooting a few), and didn't water for weeks. It is starting to look good again but once back indoors I may have to resort to some kind of humidity control as I have found this to be the best thing to help begonias indoors.

Here are some rexes I put in a large tank early this year. Most are outdoors now.
