I am soaked. Today(wednesday) we decided to put the ducklings in a makeshift pen outdoors.Weather was brigt and beautiful.They loved all the space and their own pool(a Giant plant saucer) .And didn't it start to rain and then pour and then down pour with thunder and lightning.We had them agaginst the garage wall and there is no gutter so they were flooded.I had to go out in the pouring rain and get down on hands and knees to get them. (Is it still wading if you do it on your knees???) They were scared and drenced and in a corner so the task wasn't easy.And No i did not make another video,you wouldnt have been able to see for the rain. They are happily in a bin full of warm hay in the garage now. Anyone know how to house break ducks LOL

mwin, I see you are brand-spankin' new to the forum, so perhaps you didn't realize that we need more information before we can even start to assess your problem. Here are some of the questions that we need answers to: 1 What engine is in your tractor? 2. How long has it been since you last ran it? 3. Did you leave fuel in the tank and/or carburetor over winter? 4. Have you checked the obvious: fresh fuel in tank? gas shutoff valve open? any loose wires? is there spark at the plug? is the air filter clean? is the spark plug clean and properly gapped? 5. When it last ran, did it run okay? 6. When it cranks, does it seem to be at a normal crank speed, or does it just turn over s-l-o-w-l-y? From what little you told us, my guess would be that you left gasoline in the carburetor over winter, and your carburetor is gummed up. One piece of advice: DO NOT start turning those adjustment screws on the carburetor. Carburetors do not un-adjust themselves.

First, Shicksal, great news. You're coming along really fast. Today is an odd day. At 6:30 this morning I went to Wal-Mart to put money on my debit card and buy a little hotdog roller for this job. My friend who is an electrician is here. I've got my two pendants over the peninsula hung, but learned somehow, the switch to them isn't powered, but the outlets next to them is. He's replaced two dimmers with regular switches. One of the benefits of doing this alone is the onus being off changing my mind. These dimmers just kinda made me crazy, so regular switches they're becoming. I gotta tell you. I'm a walking posterboard for Lutron. Now 15 dimmers, 12 motion sensors, and other fun stuff. Love 'em. He's also going to put in some outlets. Sad. I'll have to find other places to hang my laundry. He and another friend put a kitchen cabinet on the wall for me. I can hang 'em, but lifting these two onto cleats is way beyond my balance. Remember, I have to stand on the counter, press my head against the ceiling and screw things in. Lifting over a cleat and not falling off the counter backwards is something I don't want to attempt. But, getting this on the wall frees up a bunch of space. I can load it full of crap, then make doors. While he's working, I've put 4 handles on cabinets in my MBR. Got about 30 to go. I primed the two shelves for the cleat cabinets. They're an odd shape, W3624s. Custom, of course, from H4H and S.O.L.I.D. 3/4" maple. Minus shelves, so I cut those out of 3/4" MDF and will probably paint them a coral BM color I love. I've remudded the chewed up MBR wall. I've sanded and mudded yet again. I've gotten rid of 4 medium sized boxes of lighting materials, and a box of thrift store drawers I bought for their hardware and Blum release switches still attached. $2.00 a drawer box. Yeah man! I emptied the DW. Like to load it, hate to unload it. This was probably the greatest accomplishment of the day. Did a load of laundry/uniforms and got them into the dryer. Changed the cat litter. They're all happy with me. Arranged the MBR furniture and will bring the cabinets still in the kitchen back, since to paint I took a bunch down. I'm making room all over the place. I'll tell you. Oak, her room is the brightest one in the house, so I think it would work? I will have to play around with it and see . . .though everything is so dreary these days! Jersey, love your dresser suggestion. I didn't know what it was but once I looked up some images, it made perfect sense. I l looked for something with clean lines but a little softness, and not too precious to paint. This is the CL pic (sorry!) but I bought this dresser: and, come spring, we are going to paint it white and add simple brass hardware. best, yes, support was the issue. We ended up letting her pick out her own mattress and she wanted a box spring. I know many people say what you do . . .firm is better. For me, it gave me a backache (too firm), but later I heard this is only because I had to get used to it? crl, yes, I think clean white is the way to go for the same reasons! I agree that the art would not be the actual headboard . . .just something to anchor the space. funky, I do sew a little so a duvet is very likely. I love your idea of letting her help make the pillows! That would be fun! And, IS it easy to paint a dresser? DH cringed when I said it was our spring project. pal, I love the idea of stretching the art on a canvas. And a yellow headboard would be fun . . .happy yet simple. How neat about the hotel headboards. I'm going to see if I can find some images of them! Annie, I was so on the fence with the captain's bed. It is definitely the right look, but I had a bed with no box spring growing up and I did not like it! I missed my box spring, but maybe it was just not the right mattress and I've unfairly crossed beds w/o them off my list. prickly, I didn't know/think about the idea of just painting over the canvas. My daughter is very drawn to art (hahaha) so I think she would love doing this yearly, as you said! dee, yes, my 2 younger daughters are more like your granddaughter! What a good idea to bring in some yellow pottery. She is pretty careful so I think it would work! Thanks so much, everyone. When I was shopping for her dresser on CL I kept coming back to this thread. We surprised her with the idea of her own room on Christmas (I had to be sneaky to find out what she liked!) but are letting her sort of live in it for awhile before we make changes, like the paint.
