Yesterday I finished my Physical therapy and am cleared now to start driving again..locally only this week then totally cleared!

SO it is "Hi ho, hi ho, its off to work I go", starting with gentle work in the garden and then building up to doing it all. MY bones are a bit tender still, but know they will finish healing rapidly now, and my PT says I am walking better then she has ever seen me in the 19 years she has known me!

I am hoping to get out and get the sprinkler hose installed in my amaryllis bed today, if the rain will let up long enough! We got about an inch yesterday so I am curious about how well it soaked the narrow cement block bed.

Thank you for all the lovely photos and notes you have brightened my healing time with!!! YOu are a wonderful bunch of friends, and I am so glad I met you this year! Autumn is not so sad now that I know it is just the start of hippie season!

YAY!!! Another success story. Now if I could just heal my muscles from falling and get my a** in gear again, I will be right there with you, my friend!! PLEASE take it easy (that coming from a Klutz that can fall over petting a cat!!!)

OH, so that is what you did! Oh Cindee! Yes, I have been so careful around my dogs...the big one guards me by lying across the doorways that I have to get through, LOL.

Yes, I Am so glad that I did this, and so glad To be almost done with it! worked outside for about 20 minutes today and that was exhausting...I made myself go inside after that! Also tried driving for the first time...Feels like tight rubber bands in my knees. I am sure it will be much better in a week. :-0.

I am looking forward to you being done with this too, and know you will be so much more comfortable after it is done and healed. Then I will race you to the next bulb sale, LOL.

hey searching for buds.. is common to any plant you wish to cut back ... just a simple lesson for a newbie ... there is less fear.. if you can see what you are doing ... past that.. it was just a curiosity as to what the plant is.. because it looks nothing like the shasta daisy's my parents grew in the 60's and 70's .. nor me.. in the 80's and 90's .. that is not to say they havent come up with new versions.. but it is key to learning .. to actually know what plant you have ... link below to my recollection of a shasta daisy .... if you google the term .. that flower is a vast majority of the pix offered.. but there are others ... including some doubles ... google comes up with no pix on Margarita Darling - Darling Shasta Daisy .. and Darling is a dwarf.. which is nothing like yours ... whats that all about. ... at this point its simply a mystery .. but it is still daisy.. and the snipping rules hold ... somewhere back down the line.. your plant started as a seed ... and it is not out of the ordinary.. that you might have some weird mutant.. no matter what the tag says ... enjoy it ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

I agree, cut them back. Then use a high nitrogen fertilizer (first number in fertilizer formulations-say 30-10-10)at a little less then 1/2 strength to encourage new growth. Also downy mildew is not the same disease as powdery mildew. I don't know what chemicals you used, but there aren't an abundance of them that work on downy mildew and most are not readily available to the home gardener.
