Need Help....How to post a photo??

Could someone give me a bit of advice on how to add an image to my post here on the forum..............

I am a newbie but I want to share some of my amaryllis pictures with the forum.

I use Tiny pic, (no need to create an account) or you can create an account with photobucket if you want to store your photos.

I upload photos from my pc that I want to post, click view full size image and on the left side are html for posting to forums. I copy the first one and then paste it to my post. Hope this helps.

I use PhotoBucket, though there are other free photo storage websites available for use. Just locate the one you want to use, create a free account, and upload your pictures to your newly created photo album.

There are tools you can use to resize pictures so they're not too big... some are still dependent on dial-up, and very large pictures take a long time to load and view.

Once you have your pictures uploaded and sized, you would want to copy and then paste the HTML coding for the desired picture here, in the body of the text message.

If you choose PhotoBucket, that would be the 3rd option under each picture. You would choose HTML.

For some reason, I have to use the Control+C keys to copy photos, but pasting them is just a right click, and then paste.

Sue, you are very welcome. The first time I tried to post a picture (many years ago), it took me all day and half of the night to figure it out :-). It's so easy when you finally "get" it but so perplexing until you do. BTW, your photo's were wonderful. I hope to see a lot more! Carol

Mai Lynn the things that helps the most when hemming jeans is a hammer, a block of wood. It's a trick an old Italian tailor taught me when I was learning alterations 30 years ago. Once I've pressed the hem up I pound the seams with a hammer putting the block of wood under as not to damage my sewing table. I have a tool called a Jean-a-ma-jig (I think I purchased fron Clotilde or Nancy's Notions) that you place in front of the presser foot and then behind the presser foot when sewing over the seams. Works like a charm.

You need to upload the photos directly into the post. When you click into the "Write a comment" box a menu will appear below with a camera icon. When you click that you'll get a dialogue box that allows you to navigate to where the photos are on your computer. You can upload multiple photos into the one post. The uploaded photos will show up in your post before you submit, ie a preview without you having to request a preview.

Last week when the glitch started, I found that if I insert the pic first, then the text, then submit, it works. If I forget to do it in that order, I have to copy the text (if I don't want to type it over again), and refresh the page. Then insert the pic and paste the text, or type new comments. After submitting, I was able to edit the post to add another pic, but today that process isn't working every time. I've had no problem at all using the Houzz URLs. ETA, if I need to 'park' urls or a block of text, I open a thread in the test form so that I can go back to it without going to several different tabs. Then when my post is complete, I refresh the page in the test forum and it disappears. I could start a new thread in the same forum, different tab, but for some reason I go to tests--maybe because people aren't usually reading there, so if I submit in error, no big deal.
