Sounds impressive-looking! Burying the stems will simply cause them to rot. You can either stake the tall stems (put a stake in the pot and use twist ties/plant ties or string to gently tie the stem to the stake, making the stem upright) or cut off that tall foliage and allow the corms/tubers to sprout new growth. Hope your friend doesn't 'hurt you' too badly if you cut the foliage! (Ã)

When the NE Coast forum first debuted, I did make a post or two. But then I got to thinking. One, I don't know if I'm technically on the coast - I'm more like on LI sound, lol. Secondly, how "on the coast" is coastal? Is ten to fifteen miles inland still considered coastal, and would my conditions count as coastal conditions? I wasn't sure, so I kind of drifted away. Too bad the forum is so slow. I hate when there seems to be a great forum in idea, at least, and in practice it isn't. I went through that with the Going Green forum. I was so excited when it debuted, and then found that it's slow as molasses going uphill in January! Disappointing! :) Dee

ken, it was a mothers day gift, have to help it if I can. What happened was a huge spruce fell on it and bent it in spring. It didnt crack but lost its top and some branches. It looked healthy all year despite its crew cut! Surprisingly it ended up with 7 bunches of berries, 3 more than last yr. BUT I have noticed that the berries are falling off, thats not normal. I went to check it and when I leaned my hand on it I noticed it wiggles. Now Im really concerned that some root damage happened and it wont survive the winter. I dont know what to do so Im looking for advice.

Oh dear, guilty!! I am signed up to do two craft shows this summer--my first--so I have been busy making as much inventory as I can. It's all the same flowers, mushrooms and pendants you've all already seen so I haven't wanted to bore folks with more posts. Although...in the middle of it all, I'm making a cat. This will be for me. I've learned that in the process of making things to sell, I need to remember me or it will just become a second job.
