I bought a diy greenhouse kit after much research on the web comparing structures and prices, as I had a certain budget but I wanted something that would add to the beauty and value of my home. Some friends put it together for me, set it up attaching it to my home in one weekend. It looks gorgeous! I opted for a redwood frame and tempered glass mainly for the looks. I am not an expert on greenhouses and this is my first real greenhouse, but I can say that the fact that it is a lean to helps with heating costs in the winter as one side is attached to my home. My home electric bill last winter was lower and unless the temperatures went really low I did not need to turn on the heater in the greenhouse to keep my plants warm. I bought the kit at mcgreenhouses.com, after spending weeks dissecting the web. They were very helpful and gave us all the information we needed to set up the structure properly, as none of us were experts. I am really happy with it, I can grow my veggies year round and I can sit in it soaking up the winter sun reading a good book as it spacious enough!

Most cat litters (flushable or not) are made from clay. Exceptions would be Feline Pine, Swheat and Yesterdays News. I spilled clean cat litter on my basement floor,then the washer overflowed, clay plus water equals slippery mud. Took forvever to dry out. I opened the basement windows and set up fans. Finally dry, I was able to scrape up the mess and dospose of it. Never ever ever put anything from a cat in the toilet. You will definitely ruin your plumbing as Dan 1954 explained. I scoop my cat box (I now have just one cat) every morning. Put the scooped stuff in plastic grocery bag, twist and put with my household garbage for twice-weekly pickup. May be bad for the landfill, but what else can I do with it?

thanks all! hopefully it will have a happy ending. this has worn me out, GC AWK-ward tension is right, hope to never remodel again. my bathroom is in dire need but out of money and given this experience would rather hook up an outside shower in the back yard and just keep the GC's portapottie in the front yard! :) i used to think i wanted to do a full house remodel, now i know why people want to buy move in ready! i have learned a lot, it has been a good experience, i have my earned my stripes. (hey, kitties already have their stripes, how is that?!?) the GC has generally been good and actually rescued me when the cab maker screwed up so i have to keep a balanced view of the overall experience. the two cabmakers the GC uses did not have demonstrated inset cab experience so he OK'd that i find my own cab maker. so i made the bad choice on the cab maker, all my fault. it was actually the cab makers finishing sub who screwed up - so the sub to the sub. and when the GC learned of this, instead of chewing me out, his exact words were: "what can i do to get this back on track?" and they picked up the door reorder and cab install on short notice when they were not planning for it (of course there was a change order involved and it did not come cheap). i thought the lesson learned was use only GC approved subs. but then the counter debacle happended. so now i think things can happen anywhere with anyone. not sure i could have done anything different - i did quiz the GC - did the fabricator have marble experience etc and was told yes. i have seen his work at my neighbors house (engineereed stone counter) and he did an excellent job and was told he does lots of natural stone. i have learned in my research that calacatta is very hard to work with and prone to chipping and you need specific equipment. what is troubling is the GC continued to defend him and the product, epoxy patches and all. yes, my little jasmine has quite dramatic eyes. her nickname is elizabeth taylor. i never noticed she is wearing glasses but you are right! i would TOTALLY recommend getting 2 kittens. kitten love is the best, it allows you to train them the way you want (as much as you can train a cat anyway) and the kitten stage does not last very long. really glad i got 2 from the same litter. they keep each other company when i am at work and they are good buddies. the orange one dominates little jasmine though, he runs the show. they were found at 5 days old, from a litter of 5 and were bottle fed from a foster and then put up for adoption. here is a pic from last night, babushka cat lying on his matching stone... Thanks to you all, our boys do rule the roost! What Nita isn't telling you is that we have a colony on the patio as well. A few years ago a stray showed up, a gray tabby who has had a hard life. Someone was very mean to her, she fears hands, hoses and anything attached to a stick. We've been working on her and can only hope that we can capture her to have her spayed, so far she has avoided the live trap. She has had 3 litters, 3 of the now adults live on the porch (we had 2 neutered)one of which sometimes comes in, Baby Girl in the photo was born in April, and now 3 that were born in June (yep, she carried two litters). Baby is at the vet, we pick her up this afternoon, she was spayed. The boys are Maine Coons, Bob and Moose are 5 years old, biological brothers from Maine Coon Cattery outside Cleveland, Dude is 7 and hails from McKittycreek in Erie, PA. He was a great match for us because Sue also has exotic birds, but was an only child so he feels he is above all the other cats. I love Maine Coon cats...or any cat!! LOL!!!
