Has anyone built a greenhouse out of old windows
Comments (7)Here is another picture of the first one we did, not the fanciest in the world but I just enjoyed the heck out of it. This one was framed out in lumber, the old windows were put in and it was then finished off with corrigated plastic. Were in the lake tahoe area and get quite a snow pack up here in the winter. it held up great! Vickie Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreBuilt My Own Greenhouse/ Coldframe!
Comments (16)I want one philmont, will you come to my house and build one? LOL Would hoola hoops work if you cut them, and where in the world did you find the zipper??? It's HUGE! I wouldn't use willow, I wouldn't have a willow in my yard at all, they will go straight to your drain pipes and the roots will plug up your system. DH used to work for a well known plumbing company and ran into this problem alot at the customers houses.-Just an FYI...See MoreRE: Has anyone built their own surround / mantle?

Comments (7)Always remember to make it predator proof, chicken wire on the floor is important, also if you can around the perimeter just underneath the soil as this will stop the sneaky foxes and mice from digging in around the edges. The other point I'd like to make is that quite often (unless you really want to do it yourself) the cost to build one from scratch is more expensive that purchasing a coop through a company that ships them. Not just in materials but also in time and tools that you may need to go purchase. If you've got all the tools and some excess building materials around the yard, then sure it might be worthwhile - there's some good info here: https://www.coopsandcages.com.au/chickens/chicken-coops/ These guys give you a fairly accurate guide on comparing the DIY or ready to assemble chicken coops....See Moreanother_buffalo
