My trailing carnation is about to bloom, but unless we can conjure up some sunshine, it's going to make me wait a few more days. I can't wait to smell them.

That first photo is beautiful Vera.

My blue flax has already finished blooming and had a haircut, and I'm in the process of cutting back the chives as they finish. Do chives rebloom the same year if deadheaded?

Karen...strange! My Blue Flax won't need a haircut (about 10" from ground) for at least 3 more weeks. Then they re-bloom in late summer and fall. Chives will re-bloom, but I try to keep up on most of them by picking them out before they do so I can have all "leaves" for harvesting. The flowering stems are tough buggers LOL!

Wow, gorgeous peony! For the second year in a row, I've failed at growing chives. I've heard they're so easy, but I guess not for me.

Are your trailing carnation the variety from Valueseeds? If so, I've got sprouts of those too. I think every seed germinated on that batch. I should have separated those and potted them up earlier, as those I have not planted out yet look really scraggly.

Your tomatoes and cucumbers are coming along nicely especially with the cool weather you've been having ... they look bigger than mine.

Thanks, Vera. I like to harvest the chives to eat too. I'll try to leave one clump alone after deadheading and see what it does. The flowers are pretty- would like to get more later in the year.

I really like the first picture with the blue flax. I WSed some this year. They have been planted out for about a month and are really growing despite this cold, cold spring season.

All your pictures look great. You really know your plants.

I do think it is the plant food, Vera. I've been feeding all the potted plants a 1/2 strength complete food (Vigoro, from Home Depot) once a week except on the rainy weeks, and when they first went into the pots, a half strength root stimulator and they are getting too big considering our bad weather.

Check out the petunia pics on my album in Picasa, towards the bottom of the album. They are supposed to be Petunia Grandiflora Sky Blue Dreams and Appleblossom Dreams, both F1 hybrids, from seeds I collected from my plants last year. The bigger leaves are nearly 8 inches from base to tip. And I remember complaining how puny they were just a few weeks ago :)

Nice Petunias Shemeows! I just barely separated and planted mine out about 1 week ago, but seems they have always grown really slow for me from ws no matter what the weather is :(

Today we are finally getting a break from the rain....sunny and high of 65. Guess I'll go out and cut the so called grass and then pot up my Purple Datura. They are still calling for 39 as the low on Tuesday morning in Spokane....this is just ridiculous weather for June. I'll have to dig out some old sheets and cover up tomatoes, peppers, corn, okra ect. Monday evening just in case it drops to freezing out here in the rural areas.
