Hi Champ, the lilac seeds are the lilac tree in which the blossoms are very fragrant.These shrubs/trees are very old trees probably an original heirloom lilac the trees here are probably over 70 years old. when the blossoms come the yard is "filled" with a strong lilac scent. I hear starting from seed takes a long time- but also a money saver if you are looking to create a "wall". This ointment is not "hard to make", but I believe in conscience gathering of plants, making sure that the plants are gathered at the time in which the plant is at it's medicinal "optimum". I carry this "consciencness" into the making of the ointment, with each step of preparation having to be "just right" in order to preserve the original qualities of each plant.

Just found Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service posting on all the forms of Layering propagating. Out of the processes they list for each type of layering, it seemed reasonable that air layering in the pot would be a most efficient way to propagate 100 new 'Golden Globes' from 10 of these potted shrubs. I guess now all I need to determine is if the potted shrubs I purchase for the air layering technique have thick enough stems for me to make the air layering cut. Georgez5il, from where do you purchase your often recommentded IBA rooting hormone? Do the Box stores sell it, or is it one of those products one only can get from a well stocked local nursery?

So glad to see Sandra Bullock win...didn't think she would stand a chance against precious. Didn't see Precious. I hope it comes to a local theater before the Academy Awards, but thought Sandra did an amazing job in Blind Side.
