Polymerous, I have spent some time on the computer trying to make sure of the info I have on Miss Victoria. The reason you won't find it on the AHS database is that it's from England, hybridized by the Blooms of Bressingham. They have done a series of "Lady" daylilies, including Miss Victoria and Miss Amelia--which we have--and others like Lady Lucille, Lady Rose, etc. To look these up, search Daylilies By Blooms Of Bressingham. I thought I knew the Blooms were the hybridizers, but I wanted to be sure. Miss Victoria is a diploid, and generally, the scape height and bloom size is correct as you have it listed. I don't know just how often it polys, but today I found a bloom with four petals and three sepals. We received this plant as a bonus from Oakes Daylilies several years ago. They sell some of the Bressingham hybrids. I hope this helps you out. Maximus and Nancy, "B.T. Lookalike" was a passalong plant that came from Jack Carpenter originally. So far as I know, it is a diploid because I tried crossing it with Mom's Seedling both ways--as pod and as pollen--and nothing took. Mom's a tet, so naturally I decided B.T Lookalike was a dip. Of course, now I know sometimes these crosses won't take because condition aren't right. Whatever it is, it is doing wonderfully well, and it also produces proliferations. Thank you for looking and commenting.I do hope yours blooms too.Its such pretty bloom.With the wind we had over night,I figured the scape would be broken on this one, but its still pretty stromh and has more buds on it, too that I hope will get to bloom, too. I never thought about the bloom and cats being fallish or halloweenish, either, but, yOu are right AVEDON. we didnt get much rain with it, less then a quarter inch, just enough to wet the top of the ground, but its better then nothing I guess. RITA:Snoopy is much bigger then Ms BLackie.and I am guessing that snoopy weighs around 20 lbs, maybe 15, not sure, will have to weigh her one day and see, i know its all I can do to pick her up, and Ms Blackie is light. bet she dont weight more then 10 lbs.She eats good this time of year, in the summer she eats very little.Sorry your daylilies are finished blooming, but them Zinnias of yours is very pretty yet.I am hoping these other buds on HOT LAVA will bloom too, its so pretty.
