Major newbie mistake!!!

Yep this is my first year winter sowing and I should have known that permanent markers weren't going to last the winter. I learned long ago that they don't work for the long haul, but I sure thought they would last just a few months! Not.

I have several jugs that have lost their markings to the point where they will be surprises. Also, I put labels on some milk jugs and even labeled them with markers and pencil. Doesn't work too well if the label falls off with lots of others in a sad little pile. So --- I learned a real lesson and have lots of jugs of things I know are important because I planted them ---- just don't know what they are!

Another mistake: On some wide-mouthed containers (mayonnaise, pretzels) I put a piece of plastic wrap with holes in the top and a rubber band around that. The rubber bands joined the pile of labels. The rubber bands can't last even a few months, I learned.

Still no sprouts, but lots of learning is going on.
