I haven't even looked at Walmart. They still have some at Sam's at the original....but very good....prices. I spotted some species tulips with Spike muscari last week. Left them behind and paid full price (about $14 for 120) for crocus. I'm gambling that since the photo is poor and the species tulips look whimpy they others will make it to the sale...no need to chill the species. In my area they usually mark them down just before Thanksgiving. Lowe's and HD keep them in the heat. Guess all the valuable space is for Holiday decorations. Calloway's will often have a manager's sale. Can you tell I've got it bad :)

Here's some info on Amaryllis...I have several outside, but I live in zone 8b. You could always try it. And plant amaryllis with their necks above the ground. I would try one and mulch, mulch, mulch. Do not put the bulb in the refrigerator for savings in any case. They will be too cold there. It is better to store in a room in a cool place dry, or cover with dry sawdust, or something suitable. Where do you live, country, state, city?

A caution on the willows and advice. They will form a tall tree. 30 feet, so plant with that in mind. I stuck several branches from an arrangement into the soil but much too close to the fence. When it was about ten inches across and over twenty feet tall I had to have it removed because the trunk was growing into the fence. Previously the only one I had seen had been only about ten feet tall. Most of the branches will not develop the bends and twists until the tree is older. There will be some waving of the lower branches but the really twisty stuff will be near the top. My tree may have been unusual but one ice storm bent the trunk about 12 feet above the ground at a 90 degree angle. It straightened but there was always a small wave where it had bent. A tree well worth growing if you have the space and I have often wondered if it could be grown in a large container to control the size and shape. I have not had time to try this.
