They get later and later.
Last year it was the first week in November.
The years before, it was November 1.
Of course, they go on sale for their convenience, not ours.

The discount was less, last year, as well.
It's still fun to wait to see what's available at the last possible moment.

Park's changed their sale method as well. They went from a 'hit or miss, changing every few days' sale last year to this year's $25 off, $75 minimum order.

The ShopRite supermarket in my area (Dover NJ) has red and white triumph tulips (12+cm, separate packaging for each color) for sale, 25@$3.34.

Costco has nothing left on shelves and HD is not planning to do any sale as they'll return all unsold bulbs to vendor. (Now I know where those potted tulips will be coming from, haha.)
I'm still waiting to buy my seasonal supply of 'annual tulips'.

Our local Lowe's had a sale of amarylis kits for $1.00!!! I don't know if the sale was area-wide or just local. I bought 8! They make great gifts.

Went to Lowe's early this morning. Amaryllis went for $3.89. Not $1.00 like yours. :-( I bought 4 anyway since I had bought one from Menards two days ago for $4.98. Now I have 5. This will be my first time growing them indoors.

I did fiund a bag of 4 Allium 'Gladiator' for $9.98. I snatched it up. One of the bulbs was rather small, but the others were huge. I'll have to figure out where to plant them. LOL.

Target had bags of bulbs earlier. They had Allium something like 10 for $20. I kept meaning to go back and pick them up, sometimes the one near me discounts things severely. I got a hanging Ivy basket (8 inch pot) for .97 cents and two surinam cherry trees for 60 something cents late this summer.

Thanks. Mr. BrownThumb. I think the Allium you found might not have been 'Gladiator'. They might have been 'Purple Sensation', which is commonly found everywhere. Anyhow, I really had no business buying anymore bulbs. LOL.

I went to Lowe's yesterday...sign of amaryllis and all the other bulbs were regular price. I just hate to see those poor neglected bulbs outside in the garden section in the heat! About 1/2 of them were no good & I wonder why they can't put them in the store!

The little girl at the Super WalMart led me to the big box of Amarylis bulbs and explained that they had cut the price but they are 'sprouting' already. Hmfsnort! I guess they were! Scapes already, with big buds atop, and some of them just out of the bulb! I explained that they should have been kept cool, they would have kept better inside, and bless her heart...She said "You would think the managers would know that." I was astonished!

So the big $7.50 bulbs were marked down to $3.75, and the littler $2.50 ones are still $2.50. I did not buy any. I may have to tho, when they put them for $1 each.

The Walmart loose bulbs were a great deal a couple of weeks ago, but now the Amaryllis are sprouting and have not been marked down yet. Now all they have in fresh bulbs are the sets with the bulb preplanted for $7 more. How lazy can people get? They can't empty a bag of peat into a plastic pot for $4 less?

I haven't even looked at Walmart. They still have some at Sam's at the original....but very good....prices. I spotted some species tulips with Spike muscari last week. Left them behind and paid full price (about $14 for 120) for crocus. I'm gambling that since the photo is poor and the species tulips look whimpy they others will make it to the sale...no need to chill the species.

In my area they usually mark them down just before Thanksgiving. Lowe's and HD keep them in the heat. Guess all the valuable space is for Holiday decorations.

Calloway's will often have a manager's sale.
