Do Yellow Buckeyes 'skip' years or not bear fruit every year?

Do Yellow Buckeyes "skip" years or not bear fruit every year?

Our family purchased a Yellow Buckeye in July of 2007 from a small nursery in OH and drove it back to NJ. The tree was tall, still in a plastic pot  but small enough to fit in our Tahoe for the ride back to NJ.

It had one fruit husk that eventually opened in the fall to yield one buckeye nut.

It survived the winter and thrived in the spring with many healthy leaves, new growth and nice flowers.

However there have been no fruit husks this spring / summer (2008) Â and I assume no buckeye nuts this fall. I did not notice any issues and there are still a good amount of leaves.

Thanks!
