Tell me about Cologne (Grandiflora, 1998)

I'm thinking about acquiring this rose for spring planting. I once grew its parent LAGERFELD, which is one of the few mauve roses that grows well on its own roots and is reasonably healthy. Unfortunately, Lagerfeld's high centered bud is so extreme it looks like a sharpened pencil and the fully opened blooms are rather loose and unattractive. I'm hoping COLOGNE has a prettier flower.

So please tell me about Cologne's flowers. Are they good cut flowers? Are they attractive fully mature as well as in bud. Is the fragrance strong and pleasant? Would also like to read about growth habit, repeat bloom, vigor, and disease resistance (I spray infrequently during the summer with Mancozeb to control black spot). AND does it grow well on its own roots? If you could contrast it with Lagerfeld that would be extremely helpful.

Thank you,

Patrick
