Definitely different this year.

15 years ago

I usually keep all my containers on our deck where the sun shines only in late afternoon and when the snow disappears they go on tables lined up in the backyard bordered by the woodlands. This year I took them and placed them all in the sun for the time being. I have more germination than in other years by far. In the germinated bunch are;

Dwarf Sweet Williams 4 Containers

Centaurea Macrophella (Knapweed) 1 Container

Aruncus Doicus (Goatsbeard) 5 containers

Achillea Mille. (Yarrow) 4 containers

Digitalis (Foxglove) 3 different kinds 12 containers

By now I would expect the Sweet Williams, but nothing else. DH and DD have promised to help in that if there is a day when the temps start going to more than 15C, they will move the containers, but knowing that it will not be an easy thing to do, I'll prepare myself to do the task.

My containers are still covered since we are still getting nights which give the morning a cover of frost and although I know that these sprouted babies can and will survive those frosts, the coveres will stay for now except on the Williams.

Still sowing and thinking it's going to be a great year. :O)
