Quick question about fall planting a new rose..,

Earlier this week I ordered Viking Queen from Heirloom Roses. I expect it to arrive by the end of the week. Yeah!

This is the first time I have tried to plant a rose this time of year. I am planting it on a trellis in the garden and have kind of gotten over my anxiety about planting it in cool weather. I'm curious if it is recommended to plant as I normally would namely with a large handful or steer manure and some osmocote in the bottom of the hole I dig. I'm worried that providing the little rose with 'food' like that will give it a lift that is not appropriate to our already quite cool nighttime temperatures.

I also have three bags of coffee grounds to use if those of you experienced with roses/fall planting feel I should be scratching those in this time of year.

Thank you.

Kate
