Potato beetles....a REMEDY!!!

I have been plagued by potato beetles for years, and have just hand picked them and....squished.

But yesterday I had so many!! I had read about this here and decided to try it...got a small bucket of water with soap, flicked each offending creature into it (easier and more thorough than catching and squishing) and probably had a 90% 'kill' rate...some managed to fly away. Got around 50 bugs the first try.

Went out several times yesterday knowing full well which roses they prefer (light color). Got maybe ten the second sweep, five the next few tries.

This morning I went out, just 24 hours later and only ONE!!!

Yes, I realize there will be more to come, eggs hatching, or neighboring beetles fluttering in, but I have NEVER been so effective!

Just passing this on to anyone else bothered by this pest!
