Excess phosphorus - causes and remedies?

Is this soil out of whack? Where did all the phosphorus come from? Could the test have been skewed because the samples were taken in December? The ground was bare, no snow, but it had been a very rainy season since spring.

I'm puzzled by the difference between the two tests and concerned about the high phosphorus in the recent one. Should I be?

We've been putting a lot of compost on the garden, including a lot that was high in crab and lobster shells, plus leaves, seaweed, coffee grounds and tea leaves, and some calcitic lime to raise the calcium content. There were no scabs on the potatoes despite the higher pH.

The recommendation is to add 95 kg/hectare of potash. How should we do this? Would adding wood ash increase the phosphorus?
