roses resistant to japanese beetles

This past spring and summer the beetles were feeding on roses in my yard for more than three months! They started in May. I thought they were only supposed to be around for six weeks or so.

A few roses proved to be unattractive to the beetles -- the Knock Outs, especially -- but my favorite roses were chewed up even as buds. Austin's The Mayflower was among the worst hit.

Are there any roses anyone can recommend as being more or less safe from beetle attacks?

Thanks so much.
