Now what? (lanky OGRs)

Back in mid July I posted that I pruned all of my OGRs back right after bloom--some of them were reaching 6' tall +. I pruned them all to around 3-4' to keep them in bounds. Well, since then, especially the last few weeks, some of them have climbed back to 5-6' again. I am especially worried about the gallicas that were bands 3 years ago, they are in a new bed that gets a little less sun than my other garden and have put on mostly wispy tall canes that are arching over. I know that this winter soon as we have a good snow, they will be smooshed to the ground. Not wanting to lose their bloom next June, is there any way I could prune them now or later this fall to keep them in shape?
