Hi Kate: the picture on helpmefind is quite different than the one I saw. The one I saw can be seen at the link below. It's just the color of orange juice, no red or pink in petals.
And Kathy, is the one from Burlington Roses blooming the same as this image?

Never heard of this rose but from the picture its a nice looking.

Nope -- that's not my OJ -- that's the florist OJ. My OJ is the one bred by Jack Christensen. The florist variety is from someone else. Florists often use the same names as have been used for garden roses for totally different roses, and that appears to have happened here. I saw a "double delight" once at a florist that looked nothing like the garden variety of double delight. The most recent two pics of OJ on HMF are my photos. That's what my plant looks like.

In general (and yes, there are exceptions) you will not find the current crop of florist roses in garden centers for purchase for growing in gardens. The florist rose crop industry is a totally different industry and looks for very different things in their varieties -- generally things like shelf life, stiff upright thornless stems and the ability to hold petals while traveling from Ecuador to Amsterdam to New York to your grocery store (which is an all too typical route for the flowers you see in your grocery store). Generally the florist trade also does not care about disease resistance or hardiness or fragrance or any of the other things we look for in a garden rose. I have grown a few bushes of florist roses just from taking the florist roses and rooting them, and generally they make dreadful outdoor plants.

You'll need to trust me on this -- you really don't want THAT orange juice. However, if I'm wrong and you do still want it, then the only way to get it is to buy a bouquet of it from the grocery store and root them up yourself.

And unless grown in Ecuador shadehouse conditions you may get very different results. A good example of this is the florist rose 'Leonidas' which is a chocolately brown-bronze from the florist, but when grown in the garden is a bright orange blend (with lots of mildew).

The florist OJ was very, very, very fragrant, with a strong old rose smell that is addictive. One grower in California grows in in their field in the wine country. It may not be as finicky a grower as some other florists roses.

This is one of my pics of my OJ. And it is not particularly fragrant, as I recall. It's not in bloom now, so I can't go check.

Kathy - WOW! You sure know a lot about roses! Could you please confirm if the rose you received from Burling was actually the correct OJ. I heard that there was some doubt about this.

Mike -- lol; I did mention that to her when I saw a more coral bloom put forth a few weeks ago, but then I went back and looked at my older springtime pics of blooms from the same plant. I now think it is the same OJ I grew 10 years ago, when it was an Armstrong exclusive. What I recall from the old Armstrong plant was that it didn't bloom much after the spring flush. The one I have now is blooming now -- so I guess I had prob never seen the August variation on the color. Nice PG btw. I want.

The Orange Juice shown on Help Me Find is a floribunda. I'm sure the florost one is a hybrid tea.
Each class of rose can have one with that name. You could also have a miniature, shrub, grandiflora and climber named Orange Juice. The floribunda version is registered as AROraju. Its commercial name is Orange Juice and it must be exhibited as Orange Juice.
Patented in 1983, it's patent has expired.
