Comments (23)I will have to second Denver's Dream for an orange mini. My bush grows to about 3' tall every year and is a true bloom machine. It also is very healthy and seems to be winter hardy as well. It had four very large and healthy canes left after I Spring pruned everything this past week. The orange color doesn't fade badly like many orange and yellows tend to do. I would recommend this Denver's Dream rose to anyone looking for a good orange mini. Comments (2)I can definitely say it is not Tropicana. Tropicana is much lighter, not a vivid orange like this rose. The bloom is not right for Tropicana either. Other than that, I don't know what it might be. Good luck!...See MoreSeeking Suggestions For This Kind of Rose
Comments (12)You might look at a mini to stay reliably lower than 18". Even my Drift roses get bigger than that and I usually think 2-3' is the range I try to keep for my "small" roses like the ones above. My most regular true red bloomer in this height range is Tutu Sunbelt (Archbishop Desmond Tutu), and it's usually best in the 2-3' range. A good mini that looks to be pretty prolific and true red is Paul Barden's Unconditional Love. It's only the second year for this rose in my yard but it's looking great coming out of the first spring flush so far. Rogue Valley sells this one, and hmf reports this one to be a nearly continuous bloomer. It's very clean for me in disease resistance which is important for you in the east coast. The color stays true red even in the heat and doesn't "pink" out much. Cynthia...See Morenewhostalady Z6 ON, Canada
