Suitable potting mix for a Parade rose?

I bought four of these Poulsen Parade (Poulpar) roses last week as remaindered plants.

They were in four inch pots, four to a pot, in a peat-heavy mix with a hefty amount of slow release pellets in the mix.

As they had been shipped for sale in plastic sleeves the water had stayed in the mix and several of the plants had died and/or developed botrytis. I am not a fan for using peat.

They have finished this round of flowering (at the end of winter). If they had a dormant spell it was before they came to me.

The roots have spread out into the mix quite well and seem to be tolerant of the high moisture level (no rotted feeder roots that I could find.)

The plants will be in a cool room with good light and also be moved outside on overcast days to 'toughen up' for summer.

What would be a suitable mix for their transplanting?

Would it be prudent to under- rather than over-pot at this point?

Would it help to wash the peat off the roots - or just let the surplus fall away and leave the embedded roots alone for now?

Is it ok to pot on further into the warmer weather?
