Kay, I just wanted to say that if you've changed your mind about a rose (like Tawny Tiger) you can always contact the company and change your order, either telling them you want to delete that rose or substitute another it its place. I've sometimes changed my order several times, which I don't like to do, but so often in the planning stages I find that I've made some silly mistake and some roses just won't work. That's quite an impressive list you have and I hope you have great success with them. I saw Hadley once and was quite impressed with it even though I'm not generally a lover of red roses. I had Lilac Dawn myself and planted it in the wrong place the first time and even after transplanting to what I thought was a better spot it didn't do well for me, perhaps because of the heat here, but I thought the flowers were lovely.

Please keep us informed about how your roses do for you. It's always exciting to see someone's new rose garden develop, and of course we'll be expecting pictures.

I looove Polka. I don't think it does well here in SoCal- hoovb said she only got a few blooms on it. But I have seen photos of it looking spectacular.

Thank you, I may just try that. I will have to find out what will grow here and what won't, but judging by the ones I have previously planted, most of them will do okay with sun and water. There was an awful lot of heat this year, but the roses I have didn't seem to mind that. I have given them alfalfa tea and fish emulsion, but I don't use insecticides because I want butterflies and bees in my garden. And I want eart wworms in the ground.

I am so looking forward to these roses. I know, if they are any thing like other plants it will generally be three years before they really start peaking, but a few are always precocious and do well early.

Florence, I am very prone to taking pictures, so if there are roses, you will see them.

Renee, I don't know how it will do, but it is putting out new growth. (It is already in the ground)

I'd rather have the striped lovliness of Tawny Tiger, fuss budget that it is, than Fire and Ice. But, that's just the (anti red) me... Both need treatment for blackspot here.

If I don't buy some red ones, DH won't recognize it as a rose garden. He considers roses should be red. My own likes tend toward the pink/apricot/ purple/white range, but since he is most uncomplaining of the (considerable) money I spend on the garden, I like to get a few that suit him very well too.

(I have very large day lily and iris collections already, and he did spring for a small green house just to please me.)
