I had Teasing Georgia for a short while in SoCal and noticed that the blooms couldn't take the heat in my inland garden. That's when it did bloom. I think it takes a hiatus when its hot and dry. So, now that I live in an even hotter NorCal inland garden, I do not have and don't plan on having Teasing Georgia again. I just recently added Jude the Obscure because of the heat tolerance it is supposed to have. I can't comment on it myself as yet. I do however have a Graham Thomas and while it is still getting established, I think it has performed a lot better than Teasing Georgia ever did for me. I also hear that Molineux is supposed to be heat tolerant. I can't comment on size on any of these except Graham Thomas, which is going to get big. Here is a pic of him still on his way to adulthood. The tall cane right in the middle sprang up so high that it was out-of-place looking for months. In this pic, the rest of the growth is just starting to catch up to the gangly cane. FWIW, I am also giving Abraham Darby and Glamis Castle a try-they're in the pot ghetto waiting to be planted. I already have planted a Charlotte, The Wife of Bath, and Christopher Marlowe. Here is a pic of Chris Marlowe: I have Pretty Jessica and Tamora growing permanently in patio pots. Here's Pretty Jessica (which blooms only when she is fed well): The Wife of Bath grows and blooms well and Chris Marlowe seems to be almost my first to bloom the last two springs. He and the Wife of Bath bloomed well even in the heat. Charlotte is still making up for lost time as she was a victim of our riding lawn mower when she was a tiny band just planted. My husband didn't see her despite my warning about it. I was on a day trip to the Sac City Cemetery looking at roses when he called on my cel phone to tell me what happened! In fact, he went out and got me Graham Thomas that day to make up for it. I knew Charlotte wouldn't die, so I have both now. Charlotte is supposed to be a very small bush anyway, especially in comparison to Graham Thomas. So far, Chris Marlow and the Wife of Bath are similar in size with the WOB being a little taller and upright and Chris Marlowe being a little more wide. The only criticism I have of the WOB is that her blooms are too delicate to cut for a vase. Other than that, I highly recommend her (but my experience is limited to about 4 years with her). Of the roses you listed, I know only about Gertrude Jekyll (very thorny!) and Scepter'd Isle. Don't remember how it was thorn-wise, but it is a lovely rose, kind of thin, tall, and lanky canes, although my Scepter'd Isle which I have been growing in the ground for several years now is only about 3.5-4 ft tall at most. Hard to measure, however, because its cane have a graceful drooping quality. Lovely blooms. Hope that helps. Have you considered Princess Alexandria of Kent? Lilyfinch, I am closer to Guerero's and I agree great prices. I remember only a couple of years back they had killer deals. Rose prices have gone up so dramatically it makes me sad :( . Another nursery I would recommend is San Gabriel Florist and Nursery in LA County. Their rose inventory is currently set aside so they utilize the space for bare roots. I called last weekend and they said their bare roots should be in by January. They stock David Austins and many other types like Romanticas. Sunshine Growers use to have tons of roses, but the location in Ontario looks like it is closing and they have not renewed the rose inventory for almost a year. Which is a shame because their rose prices were just right.

@Sheila z8a Rogue Valley OR Thank you very much for your advice. I’ve watched a ton of videos on YouTube but never saw anyone post a bare root rose looking like this.. your advice helps a lot.
