You may have use a mix that was too strong or sprayed when it was too hot. I would continue watering, frequently and cut out all fertilizer and no more chemical sprays. You make loose the leaves but they should return later this year. Bonne chance. Ton ami, T

Hey that happened to me once, I sprayed them late afternoon and the next day they looked like if they soaked up oil and felt crispy then they fell off looked ugly for some time then recovered just fine just water them and be careful with what you spray during hot days

It's possible to argue that you've maximized the chances for spray burn with the hot weather and three separate pesticides applied in at least two separate sprayings. Normally, once a systemic spray has dried, no additional pesticide from the residue on the leaves will be taken up by the leaves. Rain might dissolve this residue but rain would also immediately rinse it off the leaves. Not so when you spray a second time. Water from the second spraying can dissolve residue from the first spraying and this can then be taken up by the leaf, perhaps increasing the possibility of burn.

Thanks for your responses. I don't think I can just let the bugs and fungi have my roses though. I have to spray here or I'd soon have completely dead roses. Could I have mixed all three sprays?

What you did is called "Spray Overload." If I had been in your shoes, I would have sprayed the Avid, because spider mites can defoliate a rose bush faster then a speeding bullet. Another thing, if you spray with Avid, you have to spray again in a couple days to get the newly hatched mites, because Avid is a contact spray. When I spray, I never mix the chemicals together. I know a lot of growers do, but I have found that singly is better. I also, never use Bayer, because I find that there are no silver bullets out there, no "One size fits all," and because around here Bayer doesn't do well at all. You may have used too many insecticides too close together. Generally, you would only use one insecticide either alone or mixed in with your fungicide. If you want to mix anything additional you need to check with the manufacturer of the chemical in question to see if they are compatible. Some are not, and need to be spaced out before application. I think you had a classic case of chemical overload and the bushes couldn't handle it.
