Please do not give ty ty of ga. or aarons your credit card no. They may charge you for an upgrade of size and you will have to pay for it, They charged me $50.00 that I did not ask for. I ordered 3 pecan trees and 2 bluberry bushes and then canceled the order before getting off the phone but they sent them anyway. I received 2 pecan trees and 3 bushes and got charged $137.00 and $50.00 for an upgraded size that I did not ask for. They will not issue me credit for any of it. I spent $23.00 to send them back and they still wont do anything. I think that is credit card fraud and may call them to court. I probably will call the attorney general of Ga. They are not a good co. not honest at all and will burn in hell for they do people. Stay away from them.

I wished people would check out places before buying from them. TyTy has about as bad of a reputation as you can get. I'm actually surprised you got anything alive from them. Believe me, you won't be the first, or even amoung the first hundred, to file a complaint. There have been many warnings, just like yours above, here on Gardenweb. This company is very good at somehow staying open while aparently defrauding everyone naive enough to send them money. It seems that the authorities in Georgia just don't care enough to do anything.

Hopefully, you contacted your credit card company early on in this process. If you did that, maybe they can work with you to resolve the situation.

Always check out a company at Garden Watchdog before buying from them. Garden Watchdog has pretty much all medium to large nurseries and plant related businesses listed and rated. TyTy isn't listed. It's the only major company not listed on their site. I've heard that the company threatened to sue Dave's Garden if they weren't removed, and that Dave's removed them only after that. They had a horrible rating before they were removed.

Folks have been being taken - and trying to get the word out about these shysters/crooks - for years. Sorry you got taken, too, but it's always good to have these sorts of threads come up to the top, to warn 'new' members away from them.
A search of these forums for 'TyTy' will bring up numerous threads detailing the horrors and sorrows encountered by folks who made the mistake of ordering anything from those people.
The TyTy catalog is fun to read & look at - with the really badly doctored photos and unrealistic claims, but no one should believe anything they see/read in it.

Microsoft Windows is always at risk. Hackers can always find a way in, as they've proven for years. Rather than hide from them, backup regularly onto CD, and don't give into the "computer terrorists". Nigella, your computer has been at risk as long as you've owned it. Why hide now? Microsoft advises handling this "new" threat this way: "Users should take care not to visit unfamiliar or untrusted Web sites that could potentially host the malicious code. Additionally, consumer customers should follow guidance on safe browsing." But hey, isn't this practice a necessity for anyone with internet at anytime? We all feel pretty secure most of the time because we are unaware of the ingenuity of hackers. But the truth is, we're vulnerable all the time. I won't hide til the tenth, cause I've got things to do. LOL BC

LOL! But FOAS, mousse is this year's discussion! There was a mid-20th C. dish that was (it pains me to say) popular (I only know about it because it was something my father's parents fed to my mother when she first met them, and she still talks about it). It was canned beets prepared with butter. I'm sure there must be some kind of delicious, fresh food, fine dining version of buttered beets, but there's no better way to conserve and highlight the can flavor than heating it in butter! I've had canned julienned beets served to me in salads, and they're fine. I'm not a total can snob, and I use canned tomato products and corn. But there are some vile things that come out of cans too. There's a good reason why a lot of Americans are scared of beets. :)

Here's some free tax advice, worth far more than you'll be paying for it. Taxpayers are required to make tax payments through the year (whether through withholding, quarterly payments, or both) against their accumulating tax liability. You can't simply pay nothing and then the whole thing when filing the return. Penalties are imposed for what's called "Underpayment of estimated tax" if not enough has been paid timely through the year. Because no one has a crystal ball or knows along the way whether their income will be up, down, constant, or if they'll get a huge bonus in December, there are safe haven amounts that, if paid, will protect from the imposition of penalties on any resultant underpayment determined when the return is finalized. One safe haven is having proportional payments totaling 90% of the year's tax (Ie, the balance due is less than 10% of the total). Another one for most people is to pay an amount equal to 100% (110% for those with income >$150K) of the prior year's tax. That number isn't known until your 2023 return is prepared. Use that 2023 total tax liability to target withholding for the year. Withholding amounts (and so instructions to payroll departments) are adjustable, though some employers are not flexible in that regard even though they're supposed to be.
